A Florida Food Bank On The Verge Of Shutting Down
A Florida Food Bank is on the verge of shutting down. Not only will this effect Florida residents but specifically residents that live locally. Love Thy Neighbor community market is right here in St. Petersburg and the owner need’s our help.
Joanne Braccio Says She Can’t Sleep At night
Joanne Braccio who is the owner of Love Thy Neighbor Community market says that she is having trouble sleeping. Braccio loves her community and the community loves her. She says she has pepole coming in all the time telling her, “I don’t know what I would do without you.”
Many St. Pete resident’s know that they don’t have to worry about being hungry as long as the market is there. Sadly the market may soon be shut down. The food bank is next to the restaurant Pesky Pelican and the owner of that establishment let Braccio open up the market next door for free.
Now that the restaurant is closing down, the food bank may have to as well. Braccio says she cant afford the rent. Now Braccio says she has to make the decision to stay open or not. If she stays open she has to figure out how she is going to pay the rent.
Groceries are going up and many people can’t afford to feed their families. Braccio says she has 500 families depending on her to eat. She is now fundraising to keep her food market open. Please follow Love Thy Neighbor Facebook page to find out how you can do your part.
I love the concept of Love Thy Neighbor community market, it’s set up like a regular grocery store. They have fresh produce and everything! It’s not your regular food panty and it’s important that we come together as a community to keep them open. If you can please Donate.
