NOAA Predicts A Below Average Hurricane Season
Well… This is great news after last year’s scare!
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has updated the Atlantic Hurricane Season forecast for 2018 and it’s looking good.
The new forecast is claiming that there will be 9-13 named storms. This includes 4-7 hurricanes and up to 2 major hurricanes. Keep in mind, we’ve already seen four named storms this season.
A normal hurricane season will produce somewhere around 12 named storms with 6 of those storm eventually turning in to hurricanes and 3 of them developing into even stronger hurricanes.
For now, the update is claiming there is a 60% chance this hurricane season will see a below average number of storms.
