FDA Approves An App To Prevent Pregnancy

There is now officially an app for everything, even contraception.

The FDA just approved a new app by Natural Cycles that is supposed to prevent pregnancy. The app is being promoted as a ”natural method of contraception that is powered by a smart algorithm.”

To use the app, women take their temperatures each morning using a special thermometer, and the app tracks this specific information to let women know when they are most fertile.

App users reported a failure rate of 6.5%. Birth control pills have a 9% failure rate and condoms have an 18% failure rate.

The app is $79.99 annually and comes with the thermometer.
