Smoking Strong Pot Daily Can Raise Risk Of Psychosis
Lighting one up daily is probably not a great idea, even more so if you buy the strong stuff, says new scientific research.
According to researchers in London, smoking marijuana every day could potentially raise the user’s chances of developing psychosis by about five times.
The study, which was published in the Lancet, builds on previous similar findings, but doesn’t definitively blame marijuana as the cause.
Cautioning cities considering changes to cannabis laws, Dr. Marta Fiori, the study’s lead author, said, “It is of vital public health importance to consider the potential adverse effects that are associated with daily cannabis use, especially high potency varieties.”
