The NBA and the National Basketball Players’ Association agreed to let players replace their names on jerseys with social justice statements. This move is being done alongside Nike, the athletic wear sponsor of the league. The change is effective upon the upcoming season restart this year.
The last time jerseys were changed was in 2014, when players were allowed to put their nicknames on the back.
