Bayshore Crash Update: Cameron Herrin Sentenced To Serve Time In State Prison
Remember the horrific accident that happened on Bayshore when a mother and her toddler were struck and killed because two teen drivers were allegedly racing? Well, the judge finally give his sentence which could have been up to 30 years in jail.
“Both Cameron Herrin and John Barrineau are charged with two counts of vehicular homicide after prosecutors say the two were racing on Bayshore Boulevard when the deadly crash occurred.”
However, during the trial the defense questioned whether the teens were actually racing. They claim that the speed of the Mustang, when they hit the victims was somewhere between 30 and 35 miles per hour.
They also claim that there was no signs of skid marks or that the two cars were driving side-by-side. All this evidence is disputed by witness accounts who say they saw the teens speeding and racing one another.
Herrin pleaded guilty in December of 2020. On April 8, 2021 he received a sentence of 24 years in a state prison.
