Florida Leads Nation In New AIDS Cases
Florida is now in the lead for new AIDS cases. The CDC announced just last week that in 2019 Florida had 24 cases per 100,000 people which well exceeds nationwide number of 14.
That means that Florida is now first in overall new cases with 4,400. The Federal government said that there’s 48 main areas of concern and it includes Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.
“People are willing to take the risk because it is not a death sentence anymore,” said Joy Winheim, the executive director of Empath Partners in Care.
