Another Rate Hike Coming For TECO, Florida Power & Light Utility Customers
Oh, this is just fantastic (insert sarcasm)… TECO and Florida Power & Light customers will soon be paying more for electricity!
Basically they’re trying to punish you for not using solar power energy and by making the rates higher they’re hoping you’ll switch.
The state’s Public Service Commission approved a new multi-year rate plan to get utility companies to shift towards solar power.
FP&L’s plans to improve their infrastructure over the next four years by investing in clean energy and technology which includes 16-million new solar panels. The higher rate will help fund this new endeavor.
TECO customers will also pay more over the next three-yearsas they’re moving away from using coal to fuel power plants
