Antonio Brown: I Didn’t Quit! Buccaneers Forced Me To Play Injured & Tried To Cover It Up
Antonio Brown released a long statement yesterday explaining his side of the story about walking off during the Bucs-Jets game last Sunday. Brown says he needs ankle surgery said that the Buccaneers were covering up his injury and forcing him to play while he was hurt.
In a statement from Brown’s attorney Sean Burstyn he said, “Because of my commitment to the game, I relented to pressure directly from my coach [Bruce Arians] to play injured. Despite the pain, I suited up, the staff injected me with what I know was a powerful and sometimes dangerous painkiller that the NFLPA has warned against using, and I gave it all for my team.”
Brown went on to explain that he didn’t quit on “his brothers” but was “cut” and “thrown out” instead.
The controversial receiver went in for a MRI exam Monday which doctors then confirmed that he had broken fragments in his ankle. He went on to say that he sat on the bench even after being in pain and then it became too “extreme, but Arians made him return to the field.”
