Pub Sub & A Beer?
Publix Becomes More of A Pleasure
There’s nothing that get’s our attention like a Publix Deli sub but what about pub sub and a beer? Maybe you’re shopping and the stress gets to you so you need a white wine, for your nerves. Publix has addressed your needs with a new concept. Pours at Publix is the newest offering from the largest company in the state of Florida. With beers on tap, wine , coffee and tea, Publix is looking to make shopping a bigger pleasure. According to their announcement, Pours at Publix will also offer kombucha on tap as well as acai’ bowls. You’re free to enjoy your bowl at the bar or as enjoy it as you shop. A boss seeing you walking into a bar, at noon, may cause alarm. However strolling in for your favorite pub sub & a beer? Who will know? Certainly not human resources.
Can I Buy You A Drink?
People are moving to Florida by the block, and this is a great display of why. Other states are uptight and Florida is ready for a bar in the grocery store. While Orlando, Ormond Beach and Clermont are the first Pours to actually pour a nice pint, for their patrons, I’d bet hard earned money that Tampa Bay is up next. We day-drink better than anyone and hold our liquor with the best of the party cities. Can you imagine seeing a woman, while shopping for romaine lettuce and Epsom salt, and you stroll up and ask “can I buy you a drink?” OMG, if she’s wearing those yoga, stretchy pants, this scene just got saucy! Tampa working professionals perform better than most with a little buzz anyway, so yay Publix. Way to read the room. Pub sub & a beer is coming your way via Pours at Publix!

10 Things Floridians Are Thankful For
There are lots of reasons to love (and hate) Florida. Even though the traffic is crazy, it’s somehow getting more humid, politics has a lot of people in the state divided, we still love calling this place “home”. Now is the time when we gather around and recognize that even though times are tough, at least we’re living in paradise. Here’s our list of 10 things that Floridians are thankful for.
It’s that time of year when we step back and appreciate all of the wonderful things in our lives. Here in Florida, we have a lot to be thankful for. We have gorgeous beaches, lots to do, and no need to shovel snow every year! There’s also a bunch of things that Floridians couldn’t survive without, like air conditioning, swimming pools, or sunglasses. We know after this summer, we’re especially grateful for our AC unit.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen a huge increase in people moving to Florida. Who could blame them? Once they get a taste of the good life here in the Sunshine State, why would they go back north? If you ask any Floridian “What are you thankful for in Florida?” it’ll be hard to pinpoint a single reason. Here’s our list of 10 things Floridians are thankful for… Did we miss any?
Orlando Davis is host of “Orlando and the Freakshow” on WiLD 94-1. He has been with the station for the past 26 years and is the station's award-winning Program Director of the year numerous times, as well as other titles. Working closely with record labels and artists, a lot of Orlando's content comes from those conversations and access. However, helming the Bay's craziest morning show makes way for lots of local influence in what he brings to the WiLD content team. Inside and outside of the studio, O is never shy to share.
