Pinellas County Lawyer Arrested For Financial Crimes
The Pinellas County Sheriff said on Monday that they arrested personal injury lawyer Christopher Reynolds on charges of stealing money from his clients. He has been accused of with numerous crimes including fraud and grand theft. Reynolds runs a firm in Seminole, Florida and is said to of of stolen large sums of money from some of his clients.
Reynolds stands accused of being hired by his clients to represent them. He wold litigate a settlement with the insurance company his clients hired him to sue, then he would not fairly compensate his clients. This investigation has been taking place since last November when law enforcement first became aware of him. After the settlement money came in Reynolds essentially just ghosted his clients.
The investigations has found a total of 16 victims and $850,000 that was stolen. Reynolds was admitted to the bar in 2008, but was suspended after he “abandoned his law practice without notice and without taking steps to protect the interests of his clients”. The 44 year old lawyer is said to of taken advantage of his clients, most of whom where accident victims. READ MORE
