Popular West Coast Burger Chain Reopens Florida Location
Before you get too excited, it’s not In-and-Out coming to the Tampa Bay area. Although the California-based company has started to open locations closer to the East coast, it may be some time before we see it happen in Florida. Instead, Riverview residents can get excited about another West coast burger chain coming to the Tampa Bay area. Fatburger is ready to reopen a Tampa location on June 19. According to Creative Loafing, the West coast burger chain used to have two locations in Tampa Bay in the early 2000’s. One was in Clearwater mall, the other at International mall.
You may recognize the name Fatburger from Ice Cube’s 1992 single “It Was A Good Day.” He subtly drops the chain in the lyric “Two in the morning, got the Fatburger.” The chain is known for their fat, juicy, customizable burgers and milkshakes. The Tampa Bay Fatburger location was supposed to feature limited menu items from its sister brand, Buffalo’s Express. But that partnership has been scrapped.
The Menu
The “Medium” burger is the one that made them famous. 100% pure lean beef, fresh ground, grilled to perfection, and built-to-order. Served on a toasted sponge-dough bun. Order with “The Works” for the full Fat experience (Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Mayo, Mustard, Pickles, Relish), or customize with fresh toppings and add-ons. It’s offered in 4 sizes, including 1.5 lb Kingburger. Add-ons include bacon, chilli, egg, two onion rings, cheese, and gluten-free buns. Click here to see the full menu.
