Brawl Between Spirit Airlines Customer And Florida Police Officer Caught On Camera
I flew out of Tampa international airport last week and the experience was horrible. There were no fights, but my flight was delayed several times. I can see where peoples frustrations arise, but that is no reason to put your hands on people. With that being said, an Ohio man was arrested for allegedly putting an officer in a chokehold at the airport
According to reports it happened last week at the Orlando International Airport. Edward Hariston is now facing one count of attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
Why was Hariston so angry? He and others were upset over the delayed and canceled flights. Apparently large groups of people were getting aggressive with the Spirit staff. Some customers even started going behind the ticket counter and that’s when police responded.
While Hariston was arguing with an employee he also reached behind the ticket counter, grabbed the computer keyboard, and began hitting buttons. That’s when an Orlando police officer stepped in and tried to stop him.
According to the Police Report The officer grabbed Hariston’s arm to prevent him from damaging the property. Once they both fell to the ground Hariston then put the officer into a chokehold. The officer says “I began to get dizzy and immediately spotty, as my airflow was restricted, and I was beginning to lose consciousness.” Hariston was arrested and taken to the hospital for further evaluation. Below is actual footage of the chokehold.
