Popular Indoor Water Park Coming To Florida

The weather in Florida can be unbearable in the summer. I live in St. Petersburg and during the spring/summer, I only go outside to do leisure activities unless it’s in the evening. Last year I told you about this indoor water park coming to Florida. They’ve finally released their opening date. It might be a drive from Tampa but could be a fun adventure for the family.

Great Wolf Lodge Resort is one of America’s largest family indoor water parks and it’s set to open up in Naples on September 24, 2024. I lived in Southwest Florida before I moved to St. Pete, so I’m very familiar with Naples. Great Wolf has already broken ground and it will feature a 100,000-square-foot indoor water park and 500 family-friendly suites. It’s also bringing 600 jobs to that area, which is awesome!

The Great Wolf Lodge will be located in East Collier county right by the I-75 and Collier Blvd. This will be the resort’s 21st location in North America. The Great Wolf Lodge South Florida is expected to open later this year in September 2024. New at this park will be a family-raft ride that is not at any other location. Breakaway Bay will feature drops, a 360-degree loop, and a segment in which the slide bowl itself spins. Read more here.

Nostalgic Feeling

Are you excited for this? Many of the reviews I’ve seen on the Great Wolf Lodge, have been great. I love indoor water parks and would go to the all the time when I was younger. There was a resort called Wheels Inn that my mom would always take me to.

Wheels Inn was located in Chattam, Ontario but unfortunately it is now closed. If you’re from Detroit and grew up in the 90’s, you’ve probably been to Wheels Inn before. Chattam is only a few hours away from Detroit, so a lot of people from the city would take their kids to celebrate birthdays at Wheels Inn. Below is a nostalgic video of the resort I once loved.

Obviously, The Great Wolf lodge is a better upgrade version of Wheels Inn, but you get the picture. I for sure will be taking my God Daughter here when it opens! Are you excited that this popular indoor water park is coming to Florida?

Spring break always arrives at just the right time. It’s when the holiday cheer has totally worn off, and it’s also right when spring is around the corner but it’s not quite here yet. I remember loving spring break in school. But, even if you’re not in school or college anymore, why not take a fun spring break trip this year? If you have a family, all the more reason to do it. So, if you go to a popular spring break spot, chances are they’ll have some good deals and be able to cut you a good deal due to just how many people who travel there each year.

The perfect spring break destination is really about getting away from it all. You want a place that fun and exciting. But, you also want a spot that really helps you break away from routine and, hopefully, your electronic devises. Another bonus is if you find a spring break destination near friends who you maybe haven’t seen in a while. It can be a really fun trip to find a central location and meet up with long-lost friends.
