HIV-Positive Florida Man Sexually Battered Teen And Police Believe There Are More Victims
A HIV-Positive Florida Man Sexually Battered A Teen And Police Believe There Are More Victims. What’s even more disturbing is that it’s A Lakeland High School track coach who is accused of doing this. Lakeland is about 55 minutes from where I live in St. Petersburg.
Jarvis Young has been arrested after a 16-year-old boy told is mother that Young inappropriately touched him after they spent a weekend afternoon together. Sheriff Grady Judd says the teenage boy’s mother told him to tell the resource officer at school about this incident.
On August 28th he told the resource officer who then contacted the Sheriffs Department. Detectives determined that the teen was not only touched, but he was sexually battered. After admitting to police that he was HIV Positive, Young fled the state. He fled while police were investigating.
What Happened?
Sheriff Grady Judd says the sexual battery began to happen over the summer. The Victim went to his coach because he wanted to be more competitive. The victim asked the coach for help with strength training and speed.
The coach picked up the victim on August 28th and they went to eat at a Mexican restaurant. After the two ate, they went and picked up equipment from the coaches home and he brung it to the victims house. The teen said he was sore, and Young offered to give him a massage.
Young told the boy he was a trained massage therapist. According to police, that is a lie. The victim says young sexually battered him while he was supposed to be massaging his hamstrings.
Why Was Young Allowed To Coach At A High School?
I asked this question because of the information that Sheriff Grady Judd shared. According to Sheriff Judd , “If you can’t believe that’s horrific enough, we arrested Jarvis Young in 2011 for conspiracy to commit sexual battery on a juvenile when he and another adult took two juveniles to a motel to have sex. We ended up making an arrest on that, however, the charges were dropped because it wasn’t reported to us until the statute of limitations as they were at that time had expired. So, this guy got away with sexual battery.”
Also in 2017 he sexually battered another teenage boy. Sadly during the investigation, the family became uncooperative, and they were unable to charge Young criminally.
Police believe there are more victims based on the rumors around his arrest. Sheriff Judd encourages anyone who is a vicim or a parent of a victim to call police and report it.
