This Florida City Is The Worst For Retail Theft In America
You might have seen all the crazy retail theft videos on social media. Retail crime has been on the rise in the U.S. for a while now and some major retailers are closing certain areas because of it. The locations in America especially the ones that are hit the hardest by the organized retail crime include one city in Florida. Some will be obvious but to have Florida on the list is semi-shocking.
Which Florida City Is The Worst For Retail Theft:
The National Retail Federation which is the world’s largest retail trade association said this year is super concerning with the level of theft going up. According to the NRF who just released their analytics reports, “Insights from 177 retail brands, which accounted for $1.6 trillion of annual retail sales in 2022 and represent more than 97,000 retail locations across the U.S.”
In the industry, they call retail loss ‘shrink’ and are reporting a 1.6 % loss. Last year alone it added up to a total loss of $112.1 billion. Surprisingly that’s up from 1.4% in the previous year. The largest part of shrinkage that many retailers are seeing is from products taken during organized shoplifting incidents. You might be thinking, what is organized retail crime?
