Florida Man Arrested For Attempting To Circumcise Cousin

When are people going to learn that you can’t let just anybody babysit your children? Wanting to have a night out is understandable, but is it worth handing your babies over to that questionable family member? Your answer may have been yes before but after this episode of “What The Florida?” your answer may change. This Florida man was arrested for allegedly attempting to circumcise his baby cousin!

The Incident

In a story obtained from the DailyMail, a 29-year-old in Daytona, Florida was arrested last week for attempting to circumcise his 2-year-old cousin while he was babysitting. According to a report, Timothoes Powell called the mother around 7 p.m. on October 17th to inform her that her son’s genitals were bleeding and that he believed glass had entered the baby’s diaper. Powell also allegedly claimed he attempted to wipe the glass off the toddler’s genitals which caused the little boy’s genitals to bleed. He later changed his story, but this was very suspicious to the police.

Powell was later arrested on October 30th after an investigator with the Florida Department of Children and Families alerted the police of the incident. That’s when some of the truth started coming out. Investigators found out the grandmother asked the mother to keep law enforcement out of the picture. She also refused to provide any additional footage to police. Powell also changed his story as to what happened with his little cousin. He admitted that he got angry at the child, but he did not cut him. He claims he may have pulled the child’s genitals downward with too much force, but police think otherwise.

According to police, the evidence does not match Powell’s story. Though Powell insists his story is what happened, medical professionals dispute the claim because the laceration was too clean and precise to be accidental in any way. There is also security footage of the troubling incident exposing Powell for screaming at the child, squirting him with a water bottle, and threatening to put soap in the baby’s mouth if he wasn’t quiet. The footage also caught Powell changing the boy’s diaper before walking away with an ‘object of some kind’ in his hand. Powell now faces child abuse charges and is currently free on $100,000 bail.
