Tampa High School Football Coach Fired For Punching Player In Head
Can you imagine seeing your son punched by a coach at their football game? That’s exactly what happened at Jesuit High School in South Tampa during a playoff game. The football team is excited to once again be in the running for the Championship and started the playoff’s this week. Unfortunately, they now have one less assistant coach after he was fired for hitting a player in the head. It happened in the middle of a game with several parents and administrators witnessing the assault.
Tampa High School Football Coach Fired For Punching Player:
According to FoxNews13, the incident happened during one of their biggest rival games against Tampa Catholic last Friday night. In video, that’s now gone viral, you can see the coach hitting the player running off the field. The player was running to the sideline when the assistant coach hit the player with a firm punch on the side of his head. Luckily, the player was wearing his helmet at the time of the incident. After the school became aware of the video they let the assistant coach know he was fired. Although, the Head coach hasn’t commented on the issue the school’s president Rev. Richard Hermes, put out a statement.
“I am writing to make you aware of an incident that occurred this past Friday night during the Jesuit home football game. We have met with the coach and informed him that he will no longer be coaching Jesuit football or assisting the school in any other capacity. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement in helping us to better fulfill our mission.”
