University Of Tampa Professor Arrested For Child Pornography:
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by WFLA, Deneault committed the crime in Jackson, Georgia on January 8th. An agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued three warrants for his arrest on January 11, 2024. The affidavit stated Ethan recorded videos of him and his partner watching videos of child pornography while performing sexual acts.
In the videos, Deneault’s partner would direct him on what to do with a pair of underwear which seemed to be from a young girl. While both watched videos of a woman abusing a nine-year-old, the two performed sexual acts while being recorded. Hillsborough County sheriff’s office took Ethan into custody on January 12th on an out-of-state fugitive warrant. While Deneault was being arrested at the Jenkins Health Building at the University of Tampa he was searched. That’s when police seized his belongings including his iPhone and anything else he had on him.
Florida law classifies the production, possession, and transmission of child pornography as a felony. Any child pornography charge is a serious one and if convicted, you can be sentenced to many years in prison with your name added to the sex offender database. According to the affidavit, Deneault’s charge is “punishable by death or a term of imprisonment exceeding one year.”
