Hunter Shoots Florida Man Thinking He Was A Turkey
Another classic “Florida Man” story has surfaced, & this time from Bunnell, FL. A WiLD story about a hunter who shoots a Florida man.
Now, I don’t know about you but, I had to look up where exactly this town is, and it’s considered Central Florida, Flagler County to be exact. I was also curious to know what there was to do in Bunnell, & it seems like visiting the state parks there was the main attraction.
Makes sense now, that the shooting that transpired there was one that involved men hunting. A hunter had been shot by accident this past weekend (March 17th).
WESH.com is reporting that first responders were rushed to the scene, where they found a man bleeding down on the ground from a birdshot. The man was hit in both the head & torso area, & is said to make a full recovery.
Now, you may be asking yourself, “What the hell happened?” This man, who has yet to be named, was mistakenly shot by a fellow hunter because, the hunter thought he was, get this… A turkey. Yes, a freaking TURKEY! Can’t make this up. When asked by police, the hunter said, he thought he was shooting at a turkey. Even though he realized it was only a decoy, the victim was wearing camouflage. The hunter was sorry for his actions, & authorities have yet to figure out whether the shooter would be hit with criminal charges.

If the crime itself wasn’t baffling, a Florida man made a way to make headlines. Some crazy stories include pulling out a machete when his song was denied at karaoke and multiple arrests made for throwing food as a weapon.
There are a few crazy headlines that we didn’t include in our list but still deserve an honorable mention. Like the Florida man who brutally beat a shark with a hammer. Or the Florida Man who allegedly stabbed and killed his brother’s friend because he passed him in the smoking circle. When a new insane headline pops up almost every day, it’s hard to cover every story. One of the craziest stories we heard this year was about the Florida squatters who created their own “meth island” and charged $10 a night for rent.
Florida Man in 2024:
We expect to hear a lot of Florida Man in 2024, especially with the inaugural Florida Man games taking place in St. Augustine. Their website describes the games as, “From wrestling in the mud to running from actual sheriff’s deputies … where the bizarre meets brawn and sanity is optional!” They’ll compete in many games like ‘Weaponized Pool Noodle Mud Duel’ and “Evading Arrest Obstacle Course”.
