My Top 3 Sleepers For Fantasy Football This Year
With Fantasy Football starting this weekend, everyone that plays is trying to figure out who the best players to draft this year. Other than Breece Hall and Christian McCaffrey being a lock at the first 2 picks, everyone else is a toss up. Sure you can try and compete with everyone by checking the latest rankings and trying to draft them before everyone else, but the real secret to winning fantasy football is finding those sleeper picks.
Finding sleepers in fantasy football is like discovering a secret treasure chest in the middle of a crowded mall. Everyone’s running around grabbing the obvious stuff while you’re quietly stashing away the hidden gems. So I’m going to give you my top 3 Sleepers for this year’s draft.
Trey Benson
Running backs always go early in the draft, so finding a sleeper at this position can really help you make a run or give you pieces to trade down the line. This is where the rookie Trey Benson of the Arizona Cardinals comes in. At this point, Benson is listed as the backup to James Connor, but Arizona has always been a runningback-by-committee team. Plus, Connor tends to get banged up throughout the season. So don’t be surprised if Benson starts a couple of games or even beats out Connor for the starting role by the end of the season. In his final year as a Florida State Seminole, Benson had 14 TDs. So you know Benson can find the end zone.
Pat Freiermuth
Many people will be scratching their heads at this pick, but hear me out. While everyone is reaching for all the top tight ends in the early rounds, you can stack up on running backs and wide receivers because you can pick up Pat Freiermuth later on. Why? Freiermuth is going to be overlooked for a few reasons. There’s some quarterback competition in Pittsburgh, so no one knows who will be throwing him the ball by the end of the season. Both quarterbacks on the Steelers have been known to rely on the tight ends considerably. Throughout Wilson’s career, he has targeted tight ends on an average of 23% of his throws. Josh Fields targeted a tight end on 24.5% of all his throws, which was 15th in the NFL in 2023. So Pat may be someone worth looking at.
Wan’Dale Robinson
Wan’dale Robinson has the potential to be valuable at 2 positions since The Giants are reportedly planning to use him in both receiving and backfield roles. So his versatility could lead to significant fantasy production. Despite being drafted late in most leagues, Robinson’s efficiency and potential increased usage make him a sneaky pick with a high upside.
Now remember, these are my picks. Just because I write them for everyone to see, doesn’t mean they will be right. We are taking a gamble here. I am confident in them though.
Who do you think will be a great sleeper pick this year?
