Tropical Storm Barry Expected To Develop & Become Hurricane Barry By Tomorrow
What will eventually become Hurricane Barry is now just a tropical depression but, watch out because it will quickly intensify in the next couple of days!
The tropical disturbance will be officially named once it’s winds reach a minimum of 39 mph and will be called Tropical Storm Barry.
The system’s slow speed will allow it to gain strength because of the warm waters in the Gulf. Today, the system is expected to become the first hurricane of the 2019 Atlantic season.
As of 11p ET, the NHC says Potential Tropical Cyclone Two is almost a depression and is forecast to become Tropical Storm Barry by Thursday evening. Much of the Louisiana coast remains under a hurricane watch. Our live coverage continues tomorrow at 5a ET. pic.twitter.com/b8bk68AVKz
