Asheville, NC Voted To Give Reparations To Black Residents
The city of Asheville, North Carolina voted to approve reparations for Black residents.
The City Council members unanimously voted to get it passed and along with the reparations will come with a full apology to all Black people. In the apology the state takes responsibility and role in slavery, discrimination, and other racist policies.
Instead of paying black residents directly the city will make investments in areas where Black people face disparities.
