Nearly 800 Prisoners Donated to Scholarship Fund for Teen
California inmates don’t make a lot of money! As a matter of fact, they make as little as eight cents an hour for all types of chores including sweeping floors, building furniture, and more… but just because they don’t make a lot of money, it didn’t stop them from raising money to help a teen stay in school.
It took three years and 800 inmates at Soledad State Prison but they all raised $32,000 to help a kid stay in school. The boy’s parents lost their jobs because of several medical emergencies and couldn’t pay the $1,200 monthly school tuition.
The prisoners came together to help the boy out!
