14-Year-Old Florida Girl Rescued In North Carolina After Meeting Man While Playing Online Game

A 14-year-old North Miami girl has been found safe after she met a man while playing an online video game.

The man drove all the way down to Miami from North Carolina just to meet the teen girl and take her back to his house Saturday morning. Later on, she called her mother crying because she was cold, hungry and very far away from home.

The man who is more than 10 years older than her met while playing the “Free Fire Max” online video game.

After working tirelessly through the Thanksgiving weekend detectives found and rescued the teen who is now being taken care of by authorities in another state.

After the family reported her missing detectives pinged her cellphone which was located in North Carolina and rescued her Monday and she’ll be returned home in the next day or so.

North Miami Beach Police Chief Richard Rand said, “This is a stark reminder during this holiday season that we have to be mindful of what our children are doing on the internet,” Rand said. He encouraged parents to keep an eye on what their children are doing online. This older gentleman, and I really use that word lightly, came to North Miami Beach to pick up this young girl at 14 years old. How disgusting.”
