2 Arrested After Hit-And-Run At Christmas Parade Almost Hit Officer Closing Road Down

The Winter Garden Golf Cart Christmas Parade had to be canceled this year after after a car almost hit an officer who was busy trying to close down the road for the event.

Police were in Downtown Winter Garden blocking off roads when a vehicle approached at a very high speed. One officer tried to slow the car down but that’s when the driver sped up almost hitting him.

The driver then kept driving forward and hit another vehicle driving in the same direction. After the crash, the driver then ran away.

An off-duty officer who was waiting for the parade to start saw the driver run and was able to grab him and hold him until police arrived.

At the time of the crash a woman and two juveniles were also in the suspect’s car. Both the male and female were arrested for warrants.
