Sarasota Man Gave LSD To An 11 Year Old
A 19 year old man named Gabriel Derylak of Sarasota has been arrested on charges that he sold LSD and marijuana edibles to an 11 year old girl. The investigation started back in July when the girl came home and was visibly under the influence.
Deputies were able to determine that Derylak drove by the underage girl’s home and provided her with seven tablets of LSD. During his arrest police said that he found in possession of a lot more drugs. 163 prescription pills, LSD, marijuana, 125 grams of mushrooms, THC edibles and cartridges, butane hash oil, and drug sales paraphernalia.
The communication for the drug transaction took place on Instagram. And now authorities are calling for parents to be more vigilant on monitoring their children’s social media pages. Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office community affairs director Kaitlyn Perez said “It’s a really scary situation, so I think the message for parents is to stay involved. Parents want to find a way to be both a friend and a parent. In situations like this, you need to be a parent. You need to look at your kid’s phone, know what they’re doing on social media and really decide if they should even have social media in the first place.
Derylak has been charged with sale of a controlled substance to a person under the age of 18 and unlawful use of a two-way communications device, and could possibly be facing additional charges. READ MORE
