Tory Lanez Is A Free Man…For Now
Tory Lanez scored a small legal win on Monday. Los Angeles Court Superior Court Judge David Herriford has released Lanez off of house arrest. However the judge wasn’t doing it out of the kindness of his heart he said,”the main reason is that during trial, it’s difficult to have a client who’s not accessible. I’m doing this mainly for the trial preparation aspect”.
The prosecutor protested the decision urging the judge to keep him on GPS monitoring, citing how the defendant previously tried to sway or intimidate witnesses in the case. The judge said that the $350,000 bond will stand.
The prosecutor said that there are multiple witnesses not just one where the defendant tried to talk to witnesses. But ultimately the judge decided to let him off. Lanez was placed on monitoring back in October following allegations that he assaulted August Alisna.
Tory Lanez lawyer argued against claims that his client apologized, offered money, and begged Megan Thee Stallion to stay quite after the alleged. Lanez was on probation at the time of the shooting. Lanez was formally charged with the shooting in late 2020. He is facing over 22 years in prison if convicted of the shooting.Opening statements in the trial which is expected to last around 10 days is scheduled for December 12. Megan Thee Stallion whose real name is Megan Peet is expected to testify. She said “I want him to go to jail, I want him to go under the jail”.
