J. Cole Makes Surprise Appearance To An Apartment Listening Session
On Wednesday J. Cole went to New York to hear a local rapper Ty Trilly’s new music. No info on how J. Cole came upon him, but he came to his home and interacted in the listening session. Ty Trilly did this listening session in the hallway of his apartment complex and J. Cole was all for it! After listening to the song with a group of people, Ty Trilly states to J. Cole he’s going to do a 2nd verse. J. Cole said “You Don’t Need It” and continues to hype him up, letting him know he’s got what it takes and to put it out as it is.
Having J. Cole co-sign your work and showing up to hear your music at your apartment, is an amazing look! Although J. Cole frequently stays behind the scenes, he’s also been known to be out and about riding his bike through the streets, charity work, going to basketball games, and even stopping at food trucks solo. He’s always been very modest and down to earth. It’s great to see artists as big as him showing love to upcoming rappers.
As being one of the first stations to really support him before the deals, we at WILD 94.1 have learned firsthand off experience what a humble and appreciative person he is.
