Tampa we know that you wanna play beat the freaks.  We hear it all of the time.  “We play in the car but we wanna play on the air!  How do we get in?”  The quick backstory is that we play at 7:25am, every day.  We wrap up, just in time for our morning mix with Davy (and DJ Coz with the booty mix on Friday’s).  Also we can’t forget Wayback Wednesday, so while the game is fun, we get out of the way for the wake up soundtrack, for Tampa Bay!  You Wanna play Beat The Freak, and now you can.

Steps To Play Beat The Freaks

We get calls starting a 6:45, to play, but with our show line up, we can’t tie up the lines before we do the news or our Confessions@7.  Listeners take part in that huge section of our show but it lands right before Beat The Freaks.  So here’s the math.  This is the best way to play is:

1.) Be Patient – It takes time.

2.) After Confessions, we go to commercials at 7:12am (when on time)

3.) We have 10 lines that immediately start to flash after we announce “Beat The Freaks is next”.

4.) We grab one player, at 888-429-0941, we make sure they haven’t won in the last 30 days, and if not, you wait until commercials are done.

5.) While we’re prepping for the contest, and clearing the contestant, 9 other phone lines will ring, and THIS is when people lose their #$%&!  They think we’re ignoring em.

6.) We hit the air at 7:25 and battle for the cash and goodies.

Can’t wait to play you in the morning.

He has been with the station for the past 26 years and is the station's award-winning Program Director of the year numerous times, as well as other titles. Working closely with record labels and artists, a lot of Orlando's content comes from those conversations and access.
