Mariah was discovered by Toronto rapper Tory Lanez, and later signed to his record label One Umbrella Records. Lanez took on a mentor role in her career bringing her on tour with him and developping her sound. In February 2019 she was signed to RCA Records, in conjunction with One Umbrella. She released her debut on the label, the ten-track album Master, on 23 August 2019. The debut single, “Beetlejuice,” made NPR’s Heat Check weekly roundup in August 2019. The video for the track “Reminders” premiered on Complex on 21 August 2019.
In addition to new music, she’s also got her sights set on appropriate methods of improving her stock with brands. Even there, her strategy persists. “It doesn’t matter how much money they want to spend. Sometimes it’s just more about the quality than the quantity.”
