Florida Woman Used Dog Pee For Her Own Drug Test
There are no arguments about dogs being man’s best friend. When it comes to finding solutions in life, most of the time dogs can help. Need Security? Get a dog. Want a companion to keep you company? Get a puppy. That automatic vacuum not picking up the food you dropped on the floor? A dog can help with that. However, there is one thing a dog can’t help you do and that’s pass a drug test. Just ask Jessica Beatty. This Pinellas County resident thought it would be a genius idea to use her Aunt’s dog urine to help her pass a drug test. Instead, Beatty is now facing charges for urine testing fraudulent practices. So if you’re thinking about using your dogs pee the next time you need to pass a drug-test, don’t unless you want to end up in jail like Jessica did.
The Story
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox 35, the 42 year-old woman was arrested for possessing drug paraphernalia and driving while her license was suspended. This resulted in Beatty being court ordered to participate in random drug screenings. When Beatty showed up to her screening on January 11th she was overcome with guilt and decided to come clean about her plan. Beatty not only admitted that she was planning on using a fraudulent urine sample, but also told police she had obtained the urine sample from her aunt’s dog.
There are 3 ways someone can fraudulently provide urine testing. By dilution, adulteration, and substitution. Any person who violates these provisions and fraudulent urine samples are guilty of a 1st degree misdemeanor. If found guilty, the consequences are up to one year in jail, a $1000 fine, and twelve months of probation.
