Popular Tampa Business Francesca’s Kicked Out For Being ‘Too Low End’
A Tampa, Florida business is being kicked out of the Hyde Park Village shopping center for being “Too Low End.” Fans of Francesca’s clothing store in Hyde Park are up in arms over the store closing. They’re allegedly being kicked out because the store isn’t fancy enough. Instead, the property management team wants the area to be more like Rodeo Drive.
Francesca’s Business Kicked Out For Being ‘Too Low End’:
Residents who love shopping at Francesca’s are extremely upset about the property management team not renewing their lease. It first started with management informing them that their rent was going to increase by $110,000/year. Initially, they were shocked by the extreme increase in price but they were willing to pay to stay in the area. Francesca’s has been in the Hyde Park area for almost a decade. However, the property management team decided not to renew their lease because they wanted Hyde Park to be more like Rodeo Drive. The manager at Francesca’s said they were told their store was “too low-end end” so they had to close their doors.
This isn’t the first store to leave Hyde Park because of similar issues. The Wine Exchange was a beloved restaurant in Hyde Park and was also forced to close because its rent went up too much. The increase was so insane that they weren’t going to make a profit and needed to close immediately. There’s been a lot of changes in the Hyde Park area over the past four years. With new high-end restaurants and businesses popping up in the area, it’s making the rent skyrocket. Some of the most popular spots include Meat Market, Pottery Barn, Timpano’s, and Lululemon. The changes in Hyde Park are still happening. Only time will tell to see if any other store is kicked out as well.
