Rod Wave Was Wrongfully Arrested By Florida Police, Should He Sue?
Rod Wave was wrongfully arrested by Florida police, should he sue? I don’t know if you saw earlier but Rod Wave was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. This happened in Manatee county which is about 30 minutes from where I live in St. Petersburg.
Rod Wave Was Wrongfully Arrested
Earlier today the rapper was booked into Manatee County Jail on two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. What exactly led to his arrest is still unclear. His attorneys say that the officers who made the arrest were dead wrong. His attorney’s released a statement saying “The officers that made the arrest are incorrect. He is not a convicted felon and has never been a convicted felon. We would have hoped additional research would have been done prior to them filing these charges. As with any case we will hold those parties that made the error accountable for their actions.”
Rod Wave Has Been Released From Jail
Rod Waves lawyers tell us Rod has been released from jail!
“Rod was arrested and detained with absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing, The police claimed he was a felon in possession of ammunition. Not only was he not in possession of ammunition, a basic check of public records would have easily demonstrated to the police that he was not a convicted felon. The prosecutor and the judge immediately agreed that the evidence did not support the charge and set him free the same day.”
Should Rod Wave Sue?
I honestly would sue! How can you arrest him and say he is a felon, and he is not! Once the story is in the media, its hard to take it back. The Manatee Sheriffs department have not issued a public apology yet, but Im sure they will soon. What would you do? Feel free to email me babs@wild941.com.

The Best Hip-Hop Tampa Concerts of 2023
2023 was an iconic year for concerts. So many great tours took place this year and many of them came to Florida and the Tampa area. We’re reminiscing about the best concerts of 2023.
Pollstar recently released the top-grossing tours of 2023. And it’s no surprise that Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour took the top-grossing spot. Taylor’s 60 stadiums tour set a record and is the first tour ever to cross the 10-digit threshold. Whether you’re a fan or not, that’s pretty impressive. Her 3 days in Tampa brought a lot of economic good to the area with so many people visiting from other cities/states. The second top-grossing tour of 2023 is Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour. For the first time in 15 years, two women, including a woman of color, had the year’s top grosses. The third top-grossing tour of 2023 was Bruce Springsteen’s “Springsteen and E Street Band 2023 Tour, which made a stop in Tampa on February 1st, 2023.
There were some great tours that we would love to include on our list but didn’t get a chance to check out. Drake looked like he put on an awesome show, but only came to Miami this year. Thankfully, he’ll be at Amalie Arena for TWO nights in 2024 with J.Cole!
Concerts in Tampa in 2024
2024 is going to be a BIG year for concerts. As we said, we are already looking forward to TWO nights of Drake and J.Cole. We can also look forward to some more shows being announced early in the year for summer. Live Nation usually released the lineup for the summer concert lawn pass early in the year. If you can make the drive, Nicki Minaj is finally back on tour and playing at Amway Center in March. Click here to learn more.
Honorary mentions
It was tough to narrow down our top 5 favorite tours when so many awesome acts came to Tampa this year. Ludacris recently put on an awesome show in St. Pete. 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes had a lit show at the Amphitheatre that took us BACK to our earlier roots. Lil Baby also brought his IOU Tour to Amalie and it was vibe.
