Florida Deputy Saves 1-Year-Old Baby Locked Inside Hot Car
A quick-thinking Florida deputy saved the life of a baby locked inside a hot car on Monday. He rescued the toddler after the mother locked the child in a hot car while she went shopping. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office posted the incredible video on Twitter (X account) showing the entire incident. In the video you see the deputy arriving at a Walmart parking lot where a 1-year-old was locked inside the vehicle. Trying not to panic the officer calls paramedics but didn’t wait for them to show up to help the baby. Before they arrived he started to smash the car windows to try and unlock the hot vehicle.
Watch Police Officer Save Baby Locked Inside Hot Vehicle:
The car’s engine was completely off, and all of the windows were closed shut as the infant sat inside the hot car. A person that was at the scene told the officer that the child had already been trapped inside the car for about 10 minutes, upsetting everyone around. Thankfully the deputy didn’t wait for paramedics and started to carefully smash one of the car windows to unlock the vehicle. The child was in good health even though it was exposed to extreme heat.
It’s shocking to see parents still locking their children in cars after all the deaths reported every year. Can you imagine walking by a vehicle and seeing a newborn child sitting in a car seat with it being over 90 degrees outside. Most sympathetic people would freak out and immediately call 911 over the situation. In 90-degree Florida weather, a vehicle that’s locked with all the windows up and no air conditioning can get up to a temperature of 109 degrees inside. That can happen in only 10 minutes.
