Orlando Finally Talks About His DUI Case
Last July, Orlando Davis was arrested for a DUI after getting into a car accident in Hillsborough County. News of his arrest quickly spread throughout the Tampa Bay area, but Orlando has kept quiet about his situation until now. This morning, he finally broke down what happened that evening and how his life changed forever. Orlando answered many questions about his arrest and was finally able to explain his side of the story.
Orlando Talks About This DUI Case:
The entire radio station went out to celebrate Davy’s retirement party at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Co-workers, listeners and more gathered inside the Café area to congratulate Davy on his success and moving on with his career. The drinks were flowing with everyone laughing, having a fabulous time. Previously, Meredith let everyone know that she would be leaving early to get home at a decent time. Orlando planned on leaving at the same time but once he found out everyone was staying for dinner he did as well. Orlando explained that he had been awake since 4am that day and wanted to go home to get some rest. He didn’t leave the casino until after midnight and was completely exhausted. Early the next day he was scheduled to host a charity event but before he got home, he wanted to grab some cash at the ATM. Unfortunately, instead of stopping off at the bank, he got into a car accident.
Falling Asleep At The Wheel:
Orlando explained that right as he was going through an intersection, he fell asleep and woke up to a loud boom. Next thing he knew, he was standing in the middle of the street with police questioning him. Orlando declined the breathalyzer test and was then arrested. He opened up about the shame he felt after everyone found out and having to explain the situation to his family and friends. After a ton of charity work, having a great lawyer and working with many wonderful people in the community, his DUI was lowered to reckless driving. His case was closed last Monday, and he wanted to talk about his experience on-air and thank everyone who helped him along the way.
