Florida Mom Arrested, Selling 10-Year-Old Daughter For $20
A Florida mother was arrested after she tried to sell her 10-year-old daughter for sex. At first she allegedly tried to sell her for $20 but then knocked down the price to $5. Authorities weren’t sure if this was the first time she tried to sell her daughter for sex or not. While police were rescuing the child was very upset, crying telling them she had not bathed in several days.
Florida Mom Arrested For Selling Daughter:
According to WFLA, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a kindergarten teacher was trying to help and dropping off food to help the family. She went to a nearby homeless shelter when the 32-year-old mother asked her to take her daughter in exchange for $20. When police started to investigate the situation, one man told them the mother “offered her daughter for sex for $5.”
The man never reported the incident until he was being questioned by police. When police arrived to help the young girl they said, “The 10-year-old was crying, hungry, and looked like she had not bathed in days.” They immediately took action and help the 10-year-old girl. At this time the sheriff’s office is not releasing any information about the mother to intentionally protect the child. It’s sad to see a mother try to sell her own child and especially for such a low amount of money. Although it seems the mother has been dealing with some potential mental illness and substance abuse.
Thankfully, police did arrest the mother on child abuse charges and selling or surrendering a minor for money or property. The 10-year-old girl was taken to the hospital, to receive medical help. A medical team determined that she was “severely lethargic.” Now the young girl is currently in a safe environment and will hopefully remain that way.
