14-Year-Old Brother Charged After Accidentally Murdering Sibling
Sad news out of St. Petersburg, Florida when a 14-year-old accidentally shot and killed his 11-year-old brother. The incident happened back in April and now then teen is facing multiple charges. According to ABCActionNews, “Prosecutors are charging the older brother of 11-year-old Amir Williams with manslaughter and delinquent in possession of a firearm. He is also facing a felony charge of tampering with an electronic monitoring device stemming from an unrelated incident.”
14-Year-Old Brother Charged Accidental Murdering Sibling:
St. Petersburg Police were called after a young boy was found with a gunshot wound. Officers arrived that the home located at 1400 block of 43rd Street South in St. Pete. Breaking everyone’s heart, the child died at the scene and that’s when the brother said it was all an accident. 11-year-old Williams was home, hanging out with his 14-year-old brother and 13-year-old sister because there was no school on Friday. Detectives said the shooting wasn’t an accidental self-inflicted gun shot. Unfortunately, the teen was playing around with a firearm around his siblings when it discharged. Just another reason why kids shouldn’t be left alone with firearms are aren’t locked up.
The 14-year-old admitted everything to police and explained that he was playing with the gun and accidentally shot his brother. He told detectives that he found the gun recently and kept it a secret from the family. He waited for his family to leave so he was alone with the loaded gun with his siblings in the house. But sadly, the family was unaware it was inside the residence. Police are continuing to investigate the situation but for right now prosecutors are coming after the teen for murdering his brother. They’re currently looking at the history of the firearm and discovered the gun was reported as stolen on April 24 in St. Petersburg. Detectives are now trying to figure out how the 14-year-old got the gun to begin with after he shot and killed his own brother.
