Airport Employee Arrested After Passenger Tracks Luggage:
According to the NewYorkPost, Garcia was waiting, standing at the carousel waiting for her small pink hard-shell luggage. She had many expensive Apple products in there including her personal MacBook and two Apple watches at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. She had just returned home from a work event and started to freak out as she watched everyone else grab their bags from baggage claim. In a panic she realized that he luggage was never going to appear. She explained the situation to Spirit Airlines employees and they told her not to worry because her luggage would eventually be sent to her house.
The very next day, she began receiving a ping from one of her Apple Watches, which gave her an update about the location. Except it wasn’t coming from the airport! Her luggage was about fifteen minutes away at a random home located in Fort Lauderdale. The house belonged to Junior Bazile, who also worked a retail store inside the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
She took it upon herself and went straight to the house and that’s when she found her luggage. She immediately called 911 and the sheriff’s office responded but when police arrived he had already gotten rid of all her belongings. After an investigation, they found photos and video of the airport employee rummaging through Garcia’s suitcase in the back of the store. He was arrested and charged with grand theft.
