Florida Elementary School Principal Arrested For DUI And Fleeing Deputies
Well, this isn’t good new for on Florida elementary school principal after he was arrested in Hillsborough County for DUI. Not only that but he ended up fleeing to elude police officers making the situation much worse. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. Friday night, when the driver of a black Chevy sedan was driving erratically while switching lanes.
Florida Elementary School Principal Arrested For DUI:
Otis Kitchen II, 45, almost side-swiped a Hillsborough County deputy while driving in Tampa, Florida. The two were located around the area of West Linebaugh and North Dale Mabry. According to WFLA, “Officials said, Kitchen cut the deputy off and began ‘driving erratically,’ weaving between lanes, and almost traveling into oncoming traffic. Another deputy saw the suspect run a red light at a ‘no turn on red,’ at the intersection of Gunn Highway and West Linebaugh Avenue.” After attempting to pull Kitchen over at a traffic stop, he decided to flee the scene and kept driving until he got home. Kitchen parked his car inside his garage and that’s when officers pulled up at his home.
Kitchen was then taken into custody as soon as he got out of his vehicle and deputies conducted sobriety test. After doing many exercises they determined that he showed signs of impairment. He had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and wrecked of alcohol. They also noticed his unsteadiness, while questioning him, Kitchen peed on himself. They took a sample of his breath, and it came back as .142. Kitchen works as the principal of Town and Country Elementary School, was arrested for UDI and fleeing to elude. It’s a shame that this situation happened but thankfully no one was hurt. Kitchen was arrested and booked for a DUI after everything was said and done. Officials have said that this investigation is ongoing.
