More than $1 million worth of drugs have been washing up on shores all over the state of Florida thanks to the recent weather.
Florida Boaters Find $625,000 Worth Of Cocaine:
The boaters were able to retrieve the barnacle-covered cocaine totaling 56 pounds of drugs. It takes a long time to grow barnacles, so it seems the cocaine was under water for quite some time. Police believe a lot of drugs washed up on the shore because of the recent stores pushing them on shore. Luckily the cocaine that was discovered was turned into police. They are now trying to find where the cocaine originally came from ever since the Good Samaritans turned in the drugs.
According to WFLA, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said, “Large packages of drugs ranging from marijuana to hashish to cocaine have been discovered floating in the waters off Miami and the Florida Keys. The cocaine found in the Gulf of Mexico was spotted floating in mangroves off Panther Key near Everglades City, held 25 individually wrapped kilograms of cocaine.” U.S. Border Patrol said it was with Hurricane Debby’s help that $1 million worth of cocaine blew onto a beach in the Florida Keys. Thanks fully the boaters and Good Samaritans called police to turn in the cocaine after finding the package. Cops are working to find out where the cocaine originally came from and maybe make an arrest.
