Wild Fight Breaks Out At Florida Airport
Yup, it happened in Florida but at least it wasn’t in Tampa. Two North Carolina women were arrested after a wild fight at a Florida airport. The women were taken in custody for allegedly assaulting a Frontier Airlines worker at Miami International Airport. According to Miami-Dade Police, the two women started the altercation after the airline told them they couldn’t board their flight to Atlanta after showing up 45 minutes late.
A video of the fight was sent to NBC 6 Miami. The video doesn’t show how the fight started, it really shows more of them resisting their arrest. Police reports say the whole thing started because one of the women, 20-year-old Makyan Mercer, threw a plastic sign holder at an employee, which caused a cut on their face. When officers went to take her into custody, her friend, 21-year-old Janaeah Negash, interfered. She started getting in between officers and screaming “Don’t touch her!” Negash was also arrested and charged with resisting arrest with violence and disorderly conduct. Mercer, was charged with aggravated battery, resisting arrest with violence and disorderly conduct.
Frontier Airlines of course had to release the statement about the altercation. They stated:
“We are providing our full support to the injured team member and are appalled by the conduct of the two customers who were ultimately arrested. Both will be permanently banned from flying with us in the future.”
Maybe next time they’re 45 minutes late to their flight, they’ll take the L and get on a different flight. This is why you always show up to the airport at least 2 hours before your flight!
