St. Pete Men Accused Of Luring Run Away Girls For Sex:
According to FoxNews13, the St. Pete Police Department said that the two men were trying to get the young run away girls to come to their house and using drugs and alcohol as their bate. Once the girls were inside, they would eventually try and have sex with them. The young women are between the ages of 12 and 16 years old. The apartment complex tipped off the police about what was happening at 31st Street South in St. Pete. They mentioned that they were trying to find runaway juveniles, Yolanda Fernandez. Cops talked to Fernandez and determined, “Through our investigation, what we were able to discover is that they were luring and it was passing through word of mouth to girls who were runaways to come to their home. They could get drugs and alcohol, and then they would have sex with men.”
Police said they were able to find out through social media and more that 34-year-old Calvin Baker and 20-year-old Ricardo Anderson helped several young girls coordinate running away from home so they could stay at their apartment. They would promise them partying, security and getting them off the streets. However, in return they would need to pay in the bedroom. Arrest reports found the two men had “harbored” several runaways from April 16-27. It seems to be a vicious cycle they never ended. Thankfully, both men were arrested.
Baker is charged with sexual battery and is accused of raping one girl while being heavily intoxicated. Anderson is charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious battery and admitted it to police. Both men are also charged with four counts each of interference with custody.
