Parents Your Kid Tells You No Then Kicks You
We’ve talked about “old school” child-rearing many times but parents, your kid tells you NO then kicks you, in the knee? What do you do? The rote answer is some derivative of “tear that butt up” to quote my loving mom. No matter how vividly we remember, these sweet, aging moms don’t recall those whoopins like I do. Yet a good friend was faced with that same acting out and disrespect. A day later she got a visit from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and DCF Department of Children & Families on her “worst day ever”, according to her account. Parents your kid says NO then kicks you? How do you handle that?
We asked the parents in the Orlando & The Freakshow audience about the appropriate response to this? First everyone mumbling “kill em”, that isn’t one of today’s choices. Of course, you’re joking but what do the good, time out parents offer as a fix? You may be surprised. No one is ever wishing for abuse for their babies, but most agree that the behavior has to be halted. I definitely didn’t call my mom, to ask, because the authorities would pull up and cuff her today! Kept me outta trouble when you’re more scared of mom & dad than the police, but different time. Check out these responses.
