Ybor City Family Injured By Fireworks Thrown From Vehicle
Picture this: You are at home in Ybor City enjoying some 4th of July fireworks with your family and neighbors. You crack open an ice cold beer and go to sit down when a pickup drives by and throws something out the window. You are confused, wondering what is heading in your families direction and then BOOM! Fireworks explode just feet away from you injuring and burning multiple people including your children. What do you do?
This was the scenario Peter Murray had to navigate through on Tuesday night in Tampa when Murray, his family and neighbors were winding down from a successful Independence day.
Ring footage provided by Murray shows him and the group on the front porch of an Ybor City home on North 18th Street when a pick-up truck slowly drove by and threw a firework. But the video doesn’t stop there! Footage also shows Murray attempting to chase the vehicle and take matters into his own hands. The footage continues by showing Murray attempting to chase the vehicle down the street to get a license number. After unsuccessfully obtaining the plate number, Murray decides to take matters into his own hands by shooting at the truck as it flees the scene!
FYI: New Florida law went into effect this past Saturday that allows adults who are legally able to carry a concealed firearm to do so without a license. This does away with a decades-old licensing process, which has included requiring that people undergo firearms training and background screening to carry concealed weapons.

Dominique Padgett’s two young children can be heard in the video crying and screaming. “I’m very traumatized and still very emotional,” Padgett recalled. “But I was trying to keep it together for me, my kids and everything.” What would you do if you were in this situation?
