Tampa: You Can See The Original ‘Batman’ With An Orchestra
If you were ever interested in taking in a new experience of the original Batman, now is your chance. On Saturday, January 20, the Straz Center in Tampa will play the first Batman movie with a live orchestra playing.
“This might be the concert of the year for us,” That’s So Tampa states. In fact, the Straz Center has detailed that tickets are just $35. The venue also lists a start time of 8 p.m.
The Florida Theatre in Jacksonville will then have a similar orchestra show on the following night, January 21. They say this is in celebration of the 35th anniversary of Batman, where fans will have the chance to celebrate this iconic movie. The Florida Theatre calls this “a live-to-picture performance,” that “provides the perfect opportunity to revisit a classic fan-favorite film based on one of the world’s most popular DC comic characters, or to introduce it to a new audience.”
After an opening night in Los Angeles on January 13, Batman with an orchestra will actually embark on a mini tour in theatres across the country. There are five total dates in January. Then, three shows in February. The U.S. series then concludes with four shows in March with the final date in Kansas City on March 27.
Finally, a similar show will take place in Paris on May 24 and London on May 26. You can see the full list of tour dates listed on NME here.
“I’m Batman”
The original Batman film debuted in 1989. Directed by Tim Burton, this starred Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, and Kim Basinger. Now you can “See it on a giant screen with a live orchestra performing Danny Elfman’s score,” the Straz Center explains of this special Batman experience.
Batman Returns (1992), Batman Forever (1995), and Batman and Robin (1997) would then follow in this series.
The most recent version, The Batman, was released in 2022. It starred Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne.

As we roll into summer, people tend to have more time to seek out a lounge-style atmosphere. A local cigar bar can serve as a destination gathering or as your nightcap spot to wind down. Holt’s Clubhouse describes the setting as, “The best cigar bars are outfitted with a powerful air purification system, meaning your spouse or non-cigar-smoking friends won’t mind hanging out with you while you smoke. This is the ultimate environment to enjoy a cigar.”
Furthermore, it is not uncommon to find cigar bars offering more than their smokes. Whether it’s a dining experience or entertainment, there’s reason to stay at the establishment longer than the duration of a smoke.
Do Your Cigar Homework
Though many local cigar bars welcome a walk-in experience, it is best to know in advance what you are getting yourself into. With regulations, as you can imagine, there are restrictions to blowing smoke in a public space. In addition, Holt’s Clubhouse also has a great list of etiquettes to be aware of. This includes the proper way to cut your cigar, how to control your mouth, and a few other common courtesies.
