The Person who won $1.6B In Florida has come forward! Im glad they did because time was running out. Sadly that Mega Millions ticket was not sold in St. Petersburg, but the jackpot-winning ticket was sold at a Publix in Neptune Beach on August 8th.
The winning numbers for the record-breaking drawing were 13, 19, 20, 32, and 33, and Mega Ball 14. The Megaplier was 2X. I am so happy for this person, but I wish it was me. Last week, I had wrote an article about how the person had not come forward yet! We were hoping that the person did not lose or throw the ticket away. Even though the person has come forward, we don’t know exactly who. According to the Florida Lottery, the winner of the $1.6B jackpot is “EXEMPT PURSUANT TO F.S. 24.1051.” Basically that means that the winners name was made confidential under the states law.
The Florida Lottery may release the name of the jackpot winner on Dec 25th of this year. According to the Florida law, the winners name is no longer exempt or confidential after 90 days! By that time that person will be far away from Florida, if not already.
The winner claimed the cash option of $783,300,000. The Publix received a $100,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
