Florida Teen Stabbed His Mother To Death In Front Of A Newborn
Disturbing headline right? “Florida Teen Stabbed his mother to death in front of a newborn baby.” This tragic event happened in Hialeah. Hialeah is about 4 hours from where I live in St. Petersburg. Reports tell us a 13-year-old stabbed his mother to death in their apartment on Thursday.
What Happened?
According to the Hialeah police department the teenage boy called the police saying that he just killed his mom. When police arrived to the house, they found the mom dead in her bedroom. Next to her bed was a newborn sleeping in a crib. Thankfully the newborn was unharmed.
Hialeah police spokesman Eddie Rodriguez released a statement saying, “This is heartbreaking, I never would have imagined something like this, a 13-year-old child taking his mother’s life, It’s a very sad story. He did not say why he did this, all he did was call 911 and advised what he did.”
The boy’s step-dad was out of town when the killing happened. The stepfather who is a truck driver was on his way home when the killing happened. Police arrested the teen and he is expected to face a second-degree murder charge.
Assumptions of motive?
As of now we have no idea why he did it. As the police spokesperson said, he only told them that he committed the act. The boy also sent pictures of his mothers dead body to a friend over social media and told the friend he killed her. Many people on social media are speculating that he was being abused.
