More people chose to move to this state over Florida?! According to Business Insider in 2021 more people moved to Florida than any other state. Fast forward to 2023 and that is no longer the case. Im not upset by it at all! I love living in St. Petersburg Florida! The less people that move here, the better the traffic. Can you guess which state most people moved to in 2023? You will find out below and probably will be shocked.

The Green Mountain State Was The Most Sought After In 2023

According to Fox Business, Vermont was the most American moved to state in 2023! Can you believe it? I was shocked when I read that because you never hear many people talk about that state. Maybe that's the reason why so many want to move there?

According to United Van Lines' which is an  annual National Movers Study, more people moved to Vermont with 65% of inbound movers. The report tells us that nearly 30%, were driven to do so because they wanted to be closer to family. 20% however were just simply seeking out a lifestyle change.

Are You Shocked That Most People Moved To Vermont In 2023?

I am super shocked because it does not seem very appealing. I have never been there so I decided to do a little bit of research. According to zillow.com, the average price of buying a home in Vermont is under $400K.  The average cost of renting a one bedroom is about $1600. Pretty much sounds similar to Florida except the population is under 1M. Also Vermont was ranked one of the safest states to live in.

According to Vermont.gov: "Vermont is relaxed, yet the culture is sophisticated. Clean mountain air, a breathtaking vista around every bend, year-round recreating including skiing, hiking, biking, sailing - these are just a few of the reasons Vermont is regularly ranked among the nation's most desirable places to live."

Vermont does look like a pretty place to live. Also a great place to raise a family. Would this ever be somewhere you would move? Feel free to email me Babs@wild941.com

Even though the unemployment rate is low, people are always looking for job. I see so many hiring signs in St. Petersburg, but this city did not make the list.

It is always a job seekers market and some may pack up and move for better opportunities. If you are looking to move to Florida, there is a city that is number one for job seekers in America.

To create this list, Monkey Geek used data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. They researched 95 metropolitan areas with labor forces of at least 300,000 to find the best places for people looking for jobs in the United States in 2023.

To determine the rankings they analyzed,  1. wage and job growth 2. unemployment rate 3. labor force size and housing affordability.
