Sadly, you read the headline right, "3-Year-Old Twins Found Unresponsive On Florida Highway." This horrific incident happened in Miami which is about 4 hours from where I live in St. Petersburg. The twins mother also attempted to commit suicide on the highway.

3-Year-Old Twins Found Unresponsive On Florida Highway

Miami police have identified the fraternal twins as Milendhet and Milendhere G Napoleon-Cadet. Report's tell us the twins were found unresponsive inside a car on Interstate 95.  When police got there the mother jumped off the highway. Sadly, the twins were pronounced dead at the hospital. The manner and cause of death will be determined at later date by the Miami-Dade medical examiner.

The twins mother, Shirlene Napoleon Alcime is in critical condition. She is currently being treated at HCA Florida Aventura hospital. Police say the mother fell from a considerable height. She jumped off the ramp onto the tri-rail tracks. The twins father says he has no idea why any of this happened. He also told police that the children did not have any medical conditions.

Breaks My Heart

This incident breaks my heart. It's still unclear what lead up to this situation, but there should never be a reason to harm your kids. I am a woman who has fertility issues, I would do anything to have kids. I hate that people who are blessed with the ability to have children do horrific things like this.

Many comments on the news article are saying that the mother may have had mental health issues. There is a mental health crisis in this county. There are people crying out for help, and are being ignored. We only pay attention when it's too late.  Hopefully in the next coming days we will find out more details about this family. Which Florida City Made The List With Highest Murder Rates In U.S.

There's lots to love about the Sunshine State, but we're also notorious for the craziest crimes. One Florida city even ranked in the top 15 for highest murder rates in America. It's not really a list we love to see Florida on, but we can't say we're not surprised with all the insane stuff that happens here.

Our friends at neighboorhoodscout.com ranked the top 30 cities in the country with the highest murder rates per 1,000 residents. They condensed their research by including cities with 25,000 or more people. They collected their data by the number of murders reported to the FBI to have occurred in each city, and the population of each city. The city population data comes straight from the US Bureau of the Census at the time of each analysis. For instance, the 2022 list population uses 2020 population figures. The 2021 list uses 2019 figures, and so forth.

There were 14 new cities making the list this year. "The newcomer on this list with the highest murder rate is Saginaw, MI. The number of murders in Saginaw more than doubled from the previous year." Thankfully (and surprisingly) only one Florida city was ranked in the research.

Here's the top 15 cities with the highest murder rate. Click here to see the full list.
